ENGAGE 2025 National Survey Report Released
GPSA annual survey for 2025 captures key insights and trends in the GP supervision landscape. The survey includes information about GP wellbeing, use of resources, challenges such as complaints managed for registrars, alongside a range of supervision skills related information. Notably the well-being related questions capture a reassuring trend of increasing number of supervisors seeing a GP for their own well-being and continuing to believe in the positive impact of their work and their supervision role.
There are some statistics that may give us pause and reasons to continue to re-focus our energies in supporting our training teams, namely the increase in reported levels of exhaustion and potential concern in terms of their ability to sustain their supervision work, into the future. It is imperative that building on the attraction and retention of doctors in GP training, leads us to consider factors that will seamlessly allow for the next natural progression to be a move to supervising, to build a sustainable supervision pipeline as well. GPSA continues to call for respect, retention, recognition and remuneration for all GPs who choose to supervise and contribute to growing future GPs and RGs.
