Leonie Chamberlain shares her thoughts on this year's POC.

The 2026 RACGP Practice Owners Conference has come and gone, and what a fantastic few days it was.

As the first conference GPSA has exhibited at this year, it was a great opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends, while also meeting many new delegates and exhibitors.

Representing GPSA at the conference were Dr Nick Tellis (Deputy Chair), Bruce Argyle (Interim CEO) and Leonie Chamberlain (Director/COO), who showcased the many resources and supports available through GPSA.

Popular features at the booth included Consultation - the ever-popular board game - along with GPSA’s teaching apps, Scenario and Clinical Reasoning. Delegates were enthusiastic to discover practical teaching tools they could carry in their pockets, and newer supervisors particularly appreciated learning about GPSA’s free resources and ready-made teaching supports.

GPSA was also pleased to launch the GPSA Aspire program during the conference, highlighting our Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status for the first time. The launch generated strong interest, particularly as many attendees were unaware GPSA held DGR status. (More information is available in this eNews.)

Throughout the weekend, visitors to the GPSA stand were asked to share three words that came to mind when they thought of GPSA. The word mentioned most often was “supportive”, alongside comments including trusted, helpful, collegiate, transparent and expert education - and perhaps the standout favourite: “Candice!”

Another highlight was the growing number of Practice Managers attending the conference, reflecting the increasing recognition of their vital role in the successful running of general practice. It was encouraging to see practice owners investing in professional development for their Practice Managers - a genuine win for the profession and patient care.

GPSA looks forward to reconnecting with many more members and colleagues at conferences and events later in the year.
