Australian Commission on Safety and Quality and Healthcare

  • The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (the Commission) has released a consultation report on potential changes to general practice accreditation under the National General Practice Accreditation (NGPA) Scheme, following public consultation in 2025.
  • As part of ongoing support for general practice accreditation under the NGPA Scheme, the RACGP is developing the Standards for general practices (6th edition). Following their release, the Commission and accrediting agencies will work together to support the transition from the 5th to 6th edition, providing practices with clear guidance on expectations, timelines and available resources.

GPSA recognises the traditional custodians of the land and waterways on which GP/RG supervisors and training practice teams work and live.

The GPSA Board and team extend their gratitude to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing for entrusting this independent organisation to deliver AGPT support activities for GP and RG supervisors under Commonwealth funding.
