1. New supervisors’ podcast: Supervisors’ Compass

ACRRM has launched Supervisors’ Compass, a podcast hosted by Dr James Best and Prof Richard Hayes. This series is designed specifically for supervisors supporting registrars on the ACRRM Rural Generalist pathway.

In each episode, you’ll hear from experienced supervisors and educators as they share what they’ve learned, what they’ve tried, and what has helped them guide the next generation of rural generalists in the right direction.

Whether you're navigating supervision boundaries or looking to strengthen your approach, Supervisors’ Compass offers practical, real-world guidance you can apply straight away. For example, check out Episodes two and four for actionable advice you can use immediately.

Visit our website for the full list of released topics, or on your favourite podcast platform including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. New episodes are added throughout the year, so subscribe to stay up to date.

2. Save the date: Upcoming National Supervisor Webinar

Please join us on Thursday, 21 May at 7:00 PM AEST for the next National Supervisor Webinar.

This session will provide a comprehensive guide to ACRRM’s Advanced Specialised Training (AST), offering an essential deep dive for supervisors looking to strengthen their support for registrars completing this important part of the Fellowship Program.

If you missed any of our previous webinars, you can watch the recordings anytime here.

3. Join The Temporary Remote Supervisor Program

ACRRM supervisors in remote locations often face challenges finding back-up support to meet the training needs of the next generation of Rural Generalists. To address this, ACRRM is seeking experienced clinicians to join our Remote Supervisor Pool to provide temporary supervision for registrars in MMM 5+ locations.

We are looking for supervisors who:

Understand ACRRM’s training requirements (or are willing to learn)

  • Are currently accredited or willing to apply to become accredited

  • Have a current AHPRA registration without restrictions

  • Have an interest in remote medicine

The College understands the unique daily challenges and opportunities supervision brings. The Temporary Remote Supervisor program supports supervisors to take leave, access professional development, and attend to their own health, while strengthening rural health care.

Express your interest in the program on our careers page.
