|
Following the outcomes of our 21st Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday, 27 November, 2025, we are pleased to introduce the newly elected Board representing our members: Dr Candice Baker (Chair of GPSA) Dr Nick Tellis (Deputy Chair of GPSA) Dr Srishti Dutta (Chair - Risk Management & Governance Sub-Committee) Mrs Leonie Chamberlain (Chair – Finance & Audit Sub-Committee) Dr Sara Fergusson (Director) Dr Dana Fitzsimmons (Director) Dr Kate Manderson (Director) Vacant: Appointed Director We thank Srishti for her wonderful contributions as Board Chair and are delighted that she has agreed to continue as a GPSA Director. We welcome Dr Dana Fitzsimmons, GP, NT and look forward to what she brings to the table and to working with Dana in 2026. The appointed Director position will be filled by February 2026. Sadly, we farewell and extend our sincere thanks to Dr Frank Maldari, whose leadership and commitment have made a significant impact during his time on the GPSA Board. Having served the GP training sector from the days of the RTOs, through transition, and into college-led training, Frank has worn many hats -supervisor, SLO, and Board Director. Whether at the coalface as a supervisor or around the Board table, Frank has contributed with dedication, wisdom, and a genuine commitment to supporting those who follow. Known for his honesty, forthright contributions, and love of a good wine, we wish him every success in the adventures that await. The new roles agreed to within the Board are timely, given the new 5 year GPSA Strategic Planning process that has currently commenced and coincides with the confirmation of 5 year funding from the Department. GPSA is well served by a diverse and dedicated Board, who are committed to advocating for and supporting best practice training and supervision across the sector.
