Celebrating Supervisor Summit 2025
Thank you to all the supervisors who joined us in Sydney recently for ACRRM’s inaugural Supervisor Summit, where nearly 200 Rural Generalist Supervisors came together from across the country.
The program received overwhelmingly positive feedback and offered a rich blend of professional development and peer-to-peer learning, covering everything from cultural safety and mentoring strategies to the latest updates in clinical practice.
ACRRM is excited to announce the Supervisor Summit will return in 2026, continuing to celebrate, support, and connect the supervisors who are shaping the future of rural, remote, and First Nations healthcare.

New Supervisor Podcast: Supervisors’ Compass
ACRRM’s new podcast Supervisors’ Compass is designed for Rural Generalist Supervisors supporting registrars on the ACRRM pathway. Episodes explore topics from setting up strong placements to giving effective feedback, managing the unexpected, and navigating challenging supervision situations.
In Episode 1: ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Supervising’, Dr James Best speaks with Professor Richard Hays about the good, the bad, and the ugly of supervising registrars on the ACRRM Rural Generalist pathway. Drawing on their extensive experience in rural medicine, medical education, and supervisor support, they discuss the highs and challenges of supervision, and the value of mentoring in a supportive rural community.
You can listen to Supervisors’ Compass via the podcast webpage: https://acrrmrgsupervisorscompass.podbean.com/ or on your favourite podcast platform.
