Updated Training Requirements Effective Semester 2 2025

ACRRM would like to remind supervisors of several important updates to training requirements, which apply to all new registrars commencing training from Semester 2, 2025.

Key Updates:

·       Community primary care requirement has been increased from 6 months to 12 months

·       Trainees are required to complete Advanced Life Support 2 (ALS2), replacing the previous ALS requirement.

·       Tier 1 and 2 emergency medicine courses are no longer mandatory, as the competencies are now covered through completion of Rural Emergency Skills Training (REST) and ALS2.

Full details of these changes are available in the updated Fellowship Training Handbook.

For further information or support, please contact your regional training team.
