ACRRM communique for July 2025: for more information visit acrrm.org.au

1. Upcoming RGTS consolidation

From December 2025, the Rural Generalist Training Scheme (RGTS) will cease and be consolidated with the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) funded-pathway from January 2026.

This is a good news story – we’ve been able to demonstrate the need and appetite for additional funded RG training positions through RGTS over the years, and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DoHDA) is supportive of bringing these positions across to AGPT in order to simplify the delivery of training.

What does this mean for supervisors and training posts?

  • There are no changes to education and training delivery or requirements for ACRRM registrars.
  • You’ll continue to use RG Hub for the management of accreditation and payments.
  • You’ll continue to be supported by your dedicated ACRRM regional team.
  • Supervisor payments will be made by Services Australia through the Nationally Consistent Payments (NCP) framework.
  • You may be eligible to apply for Flexible Funds for financial support and incentives.

ACRRM will be in touch with affected registrars, supervisors and training posts with more information about the consolidation in due course.

In the meantime, familiarise yourself with the frequently asked questions and get in touch with your region's training team if you have any questions.

2. Supervisor Summit 2025 – Registrations Open

The inaugural Supervisor Summit 2025 is a networking event for ACRRM accredited supervisors from all regions of Australia.

This three-day summit will provide ACRRM accredited supervisors with an outstanding opportunity to network with their peers and ACRRM staff in the idyllic location of Sydney.
