Incoming CEO Blog - April/May 2025

Published on April 30, 2025
Coming into the Interim CEO role I am very fortunate to be following the amazing Carla Taylor, who has done an outstanding job of positioning GPSA at the centre of professional supervision for this sector. I have big shoes to fill but fortunately join a team of dedicated individuals committed to providing a valuable service and supports to its broad membership base.

My own background has seen me in a variety of Board Chair, CEO and Director roles across the NFP sector, ranging from homelessness and mediation to disability and aged care, as well as philanthropy, fundraising and community banking. With the federal elections holding so much focus right now, I can add to my introduction one distinct foray into the health sector: a successful campaign to prevent the closure of the Healesville Hospital in the 2014 state elections.

I have also had the privilege of serving on the ACNC Reference group for 10 years, hosting sections of the philanthropic community, being the lead judge for the philanthropy awards of Business Higher Education Round Table (BHERT) for 8 years and being awarded the NFP Banking Leader of the Year for Australia in 2021.

Along the way I have previously owned a travel agency, operating an extensive hospitality business, managing three vineyards and travelling extensively.  Living in the Yarra Valley, I am fortunate to enjoy a rural lifestyle and am involved in a number of local groups.  These include having hosted a weekly Community Conversations program on radio station FM99.1, conducting mediations and delivering a number of winning speeches at Toastmasters speech competitions at various levels. In 2024, I was appointed as a Justice of the Peace for Victoria.

I look forward to meeting many GPSA members over the coming weeks and playing my part in enabling GPSA to continue its key role in supporting best practice supervision.
