New Chapter Begins for GPSA
|
The Board of General Practice Supervision Australia (GPSA) is excited to announce that the independent supervision peak is venturing into new territory. GPSA’s delivery of high-quality supports for supervisors of future GPs and RGs is now expanding to meet emerging needs across the wider healthcare environment. To facilitate this new chapter, Ms Carla Taylor, who has served as GPSA CEO since May 2022, will transition into a newly created role as GPSA’s Executive Lead of Special Projects. “GPSA as an organisation has thrived and grown over the last 3 years, both increasing its reach and its contributions in the sector. Carla’s leadership during this time has ensured the goals we have set ourselves get closer each year,” said Dr Srishti Dutta, Chair of GPSA. “The energy, commitment and skills she brings to the organisation will continue to be a part of her new role, ensuring the achievement of GPSA’s vision as a future-focussed sector peak.” Of her new role and the direction GPSA is taking, Ms Taylor is enthusiastic: “My focus has always been on identifying and maximising opportunities for GPSA and its members. In this new role, and with the support of a wonderful interim CEO, I’ll be leading initiatives that expand our offerings beyond the traditional to ensure the organisation is well-positioned for the future.” Securing the ongoing delivery of GPSA’s highly-regarded supports, advocacy and best practice educational resources for GP supervision teams, the GPSA Board has appointed interim CEO, Mr Bruce Argyle, who brings a wealth of governance and leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector. “I am excited by the prospect of building on Carla’s outstanding leadership at the helm of GPSA. I look forward to seeing the huge benefits that will come from allowing her to be freed up to focus on a new chapter in the life of the organisation and its key role in the sector,” said Mr Argyle. “Bruce Argyle is a tremendous asset for the team, Board and GPSA community,” said Dr Dutta. “This evolution not only reinforces GPSA’s mission to support our members for many years to come but also ensures that the wider healthcare community benefits from our 20-year legacy of enabling high-quality supervision of health professionals.” |
