"I love my job, but it's time to go..."

Australia is facing a critical shortage of GPs. Female GPs are reducing their clinical GP work at higher rates than their male colleagues.

If we are to retain their expertise , we need to better understand what is driving their decision making

Professor Louise Stone leads this narrative study of wellbeing triggers for early retirement in female GPs - a collaborative project being run by the University of Adelaide under funding from the RACGP Foundation. Louise's team includes some heavy hitters too:

  • A/Prof Megan Cahill - Australian National University (ANU)
  • A/Prof Karen Price - Monash University
  • A/Prof Michelle Barrett - ANU
  • Dr Erin Walsh - ANU

This research team is interested in your decision to retire and the factors influencing your decision if you are:

A) a female, Australian GP who has retired or reduced your clinical load by >50% in the last 5 years, or

B) a female, Australian GP who is planning to retire or reduce your clinical load by >50% in the next 5 years
