Mini-clinical evaluation exercise (Mini-CEX) and random case analysis (RCA) - supervisors guides

In 2024.1, supervisors of GPT1 and GPT2 registrars were required to complete two mini-CEX and two RCAs via a paper template (in Word). The assessments weren’t required to be submitted unless a flag was raised about performance, however a copy should have been retained by the training site as a record of assessment. What’s changing in 2024.2?  Starting in 2024.2, supervisors of GPT1, GPT2 and now GPT3 registrars will need to complete two mini CEX and two RCAs per semester. The assessments will no longer be paper-based and will be completed directly in the TMS, like term assessments are. The Word template will no longer be in use.

A gplearning module is also available for supervisors, explaining how to perform the mini-CEX assessment. The course takes around 20 minutes to complete.
