Townsville's Dr Kevin Arlett elected as new GPSA Chair

After holding down the fort for 2 incredibly busy months as Interim Chair following the appointment of Dr Nicole Higgins as the next President of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP), Townsville GP supervisor and practice owner, Dr Kevin Arlett, has been formally chosen as the organisation's Chairperson at the frst meeting of the 2023 Board of GPSA.

A director of GPSA since 2017, Kevin brings equal measures of GP training and governance expertise to this role: both vital as we move into the challenges GPSA's membership faces with the transition to profession-led training.

Media release 12th September 2022   Melbourne-born Mackay GP and practice owner Dr Nicole Higgins has today been announced the President-elect for RACGP. Dr Higgins hands over the baton as GPSA Chairperson to Townsville-based Dr Kevin Arlett, a fellow North Queensland GP and practice principal who shares the outgoing Chair’s passion for the profession generally and GP training specifically.
