First Nations GP Training - Scoping Project

Published on November 28, 2025

Are you or have you recently* been:

  • a GP supervisor working in an AMS or ACCHO?
  • a GP supervisor of an Indigenous registrar working in a mainstream setting?
  • an Indigenous GP supervisor working in either First Nations or mainstream healthcare?

(*Supervising a registrar since the Training Term 2 of 2024 qualifies as "recent" for the purpose of this study.)

If yes, we need your invaluable insights as part of a rapid study GPSA has been asked to undertake collaboratively with GPRA to map the First Nations GP Training supports available across the country.

What is involved?

This pulse survey utilises a deliberately broad definition of “support,” encompassing both non-financial and financial assistance that may in turn be either formal or informal. Your observations and suggestions will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of current tools and support mechanisms, helping us analyse the full scope of available initiatives and thereby identify potential gaps and opportunities. All data will be treated in complete confidence, fully de-identified, and used to inform further, Indigenous-led, research that will ultimately guide the Department of Health, Disability and Aged Care on where future supports would be best placed.
