First SLOAC meeting for 2026

The first Supervisor Liaison Officer Advisory Council (SLOAC) meeting for 2026 was held recently online, the first with new incoming co-chairs James Best (ACRRM), Joanne Chafey (RACGP) and John Vaughan (RACGP). The new co-chairs had had a handover meeting with the previous co-chairs in order to ensure a smooth transition.

Coming Soon to Your Inbox

GPSA will soon be inviting you to share your experiences of general practice supervision to help inform our future support and advocacy work.Your insights play an important role in shaping initiatives aimed at improving supervisor satisfaction, wellbeing and workforce retention across the profession. Keep an eye on your inbox - an invitation with details will be sent to all GPSA members shortly. We encourage you to set aside 15-20 minutes to have your say.

We are delighted with the response to our new short course supporting supervision teams in the management of registrars and training placements.

We've had some great feedback from participants, including Lorena, who is having registrars for the first time:

  • "Having registrars for the first time, I found this course extremely helpful. The content covered all aspects of the registrar program clearly.
  • It was good to be able to do it at my own pace, this allowed for me to go over the modules more than once if needed.
  • The bonus links allowed for easy access to information which I could bookmark or download to refer back to."

The course is available now! So if you are interested, there is more information on our website.

We’ll keep supervisors informed of any updates as this work progresses.

More information about the NTCER is available on our website.

The GPSA Board and team extend their gratitude to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing for entrusting this independent organisation to deliver AGPT support activities for GP and RG supervisors under Commonwealth funding.
