Be prepared for the RGTS-AGPT consolidation: Key actions for ACRRM supervisors

From 1 January 2026, ACRRM registrars on the Rural Generalist Training Scheme (RGTS) will be transitioned to the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) funded pathway to simplify the delivery of the ACRRM Rural Generalist Fellowship Program and the associated financial support.

ACRRM and GPSA are working together to ensure supervisors have the information and support they need to prepare for the changes, so you can continue supervising uninterrupted and support your ACRRM registrars with confidence.

Next steps

If you’re currently supervising an ACRRM registrar who is training under the RGTS, you’re encouraged to watch ACRRM and GPSA’s recent webinar on the consolidation which provides an overview of the changes and what you need to do to ensure you continue to receive your supervision payments.

ACRRM’s dedicated webpage for supervisors  outlines the key actions you need to follow to remain eligible for financial support from 2026.

If you have questions or are unsure about how the changes affect you, please contact  the ACRRM training team at [email protected]
