CEO Report - October 2025

Published on September 29, 2025
The GPSA team has bounced into Spring ('a spring in their step'?) with plenty of activity taking place in support of members and lots of upcoming activity as outlined in this eNews.

The SLO Advisory Council met in Melbourne early in September and saw plenty of robust and helpful discussions around issues facing Supervisors. It was heartening to hear stories from 'on the ground' and to be able to share experiences and ideas with a very committed group.

Our GPSA Webinars have been well supported and continue to create high levels of interest. Ranging from The use of AI Scribes to Teaching your registrar to deliver effective preventive health care, participants rank these interactions highly useful (and if you have missed any of these they are available on our website).  If you have a suggestion for a webinar please do let us know.

Members of our Board and staff team have recently participated in the ACRRM Supervisor Summit and the WONCA Conference in Portugal and we look forward to catching up with many of our members at the RMA Conference in Perth in October and the RACGP25 Conference in Brisbane in November. If I have not met you please introduce yourself at our GPSA booth or come and pick up one of our popular Consultation Game resources for your practice.

As we approach the final quarter of 2025, I hope that you again take time to reflect on the importance of best practice quality supervision and the huge positive impact that this can have for Registrars and indeed for students in all parts of the health sector. Your investment of time, commitment to debriefing and the sharing of experiences is invaluable and ensures that we are providing inspiration and appropriate learnings for the next generation of GPs.  As someone shared with me this week "you are the wind beneath their wings". Your efforts are important and I commend you for them. Onwards and upwards!
