Reflections from the RACGP Practice Owners Conference

Published on May 27, 2025
Our team attended the RACGP Practice Owner's Conference and Leonie Chamberlain shares a summary with us.

The Practice Owner's Conference was held in sunny Melbourne last weekend.  (Emphasis added for those who still claim that the weather in the northern states is superior!)

It presented a great opportunity for our Interim CEO - Mr Bruce Argyle - to meet members, stakeholders and fellow exhibitors. Stepping into the CEO role came with a steep learning curve, but Bruce is well on the way to being able to hold a conversation with only acronyms - a skill everyone in this industry obtains.

Carla Taylor was able to explain her new role within the organisation, and start the ball rolling on a number of collaborations.

Dr Candice Baker and Leonie Chamberlain - members of the GPSA Board - spoke with members, introduced new supervisors to our resources, and encouraged the use of the GPSA virtual Community of Practice - your place to meet with your fellow supervisors and teams.  There were also a number of roleplays undertaken as the Consultation game was demonstrated.

As always, there were plenty of laughs, reunions and new friendships made.

The next 'road trip' will be undertaken by Drs Srishti Dutta and Simon Morgan as they head to Adelaide for GPME next week.  Look out for them if you are there.
