1. MPN paperwork reminder

The deadline for Medicare provider number (MPN) paperwork was Monday, 2 June. If your registrar has not submitted their paperwork, they will still receive an MPN for 2025.2, however it may not be before the beginning of the semester. 

Registrars cannot begin working in practice until their MPN is received. If you are concerned about the MPN deadline, please reach out to your training coordinator for support.

2. 2025 RACGP Awards Nominations Now Open
 
The annual RACGP Awards recognise excellence in general practice and outstanding dedication to holistic patient care. They’re a chance to celebrate exceptional individuals in Australian general practice, including the outstanding contributions of supervisors and medical educators.

Head to the RACGP website to explore the categories and submit a nomination for:

  • GP Supervisor of the Year
  • General Practice of the Year
  • Dr Jeremy Bunker Award for Outstanding Achievement in General Practice Training
  • General Practitioner in Training of the Year

...and more.

Nominations close 30 June and winners will be announced during a national awards ceremony at GP25 in Brisbane.

3. 2025.2 Placement applications are open

Placement applications for 2025.2 are now open, and training sites can now make offers to registrars. You can offer up to the number of positions your training site has available and can stop receiving applications at any time. Please note the Medicare Provider Number (MPN) deadline for 2025.2 is 2 June

4. Now open: expressions of interest for RACGP accreditation  

Do you know of a practice looking to become RACGP training accredited? Good news – expressions of interest are now open to practices and supervisors.
