1. Victorian GP Registrars Workshop 2025

General Practice Registrars Victoria and the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria are inviting registrations for the annual Victorian Workshop for GP Registrars in Ballarat this May.

The Ballarat Workshop will provide an invaluable educational experience for Victorian GP registrars, fostering peer learning and professional development as they connect with counterparts and experienced doctors while diving into clinical skills, case review, clinical reasoning, consultation structure, and communication skills and techniques. 

Who: Victorian GP Registrars
When: Friday 23rd May - Sunday 25th May 2025
Location: Mercure Resort Ballarat, 613 Main Road, Ballarat
Grants are available through GPRA's workshop partner, Rural Workforce Agency Victoria

2. The 2025 GPRA NT Scholarship Program for GP registrars

GPRA's NT Scholarships Program for 2025 is now accepting nominations and applications.

GPRA has four scholarships available:

>       3 in 2025 to support GP registrars who are currently training in the NT

Dr Debbie Stach Northern Territory GP Registrar of the Year Award

$10,000 awarded in 2025 to one GP registrar enrolled in the AGPT training program in the NT. Supervisors may nominate registrars for this award.

Ada Wilmadda Parry Aboriginal Health Scholarship

2 x $5,000 scholarships awarded in 2025 to two GP registrars enrolled in the AGPT training program in the NT.

Professor Alan Walker Paediatric Scholarship

3 x $5,000 scholarships awarded in 2025 to three GP registrars enrolled in the AGPT training program in the NT.

 

>       1 for those who are aiming to relocate to the NT for their training.

GPRA Northern Territory Rural and Remote Scholarship

2 x $20,000 scholarships awarded in 25/26 to two GP registrars outside the NT to relocate to the NT for consecutive 2 training semesters. (12 months) 

 

Fast facts:

  • Applications open until 24 April 2025 and will be announced in June 2025.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a GP training program in the NT and be members of GPRA (free membership).
  • Scholarships range from $5,000 – $20,000.
  • User-friendly online application.

3. GPRA's GP Companion 4th edition - now in print and online

The GP Companion is the essential reference guide for GP registrars, prevocational doctors and medical students.

This publication is authored, reviewed and edited by GPs and medical educators. It contains easy-to-access facts and quick-reference figures on a range of common medical conditions, preventive health and clinical reasoning.
