
Updating pay rates for the second half of 2024
July 1 changes to base rates for existing trainees
From the start of the new financial year, trainees on an existing contract receive an increase on the 2024.1 minimum rate of 3.5%, being the MBS indexation increase announced on June 5, 2024. Practices are also reminded that the statutory increase in superannuation kicks in on the same day.
Irrespective of where 1 July falls in your pay period, the new minimum rate applies from this date through to the end of Semester 1, 2024:

From the start of the second training semester (see relevant dates by state/territory), the Semester 1 minimum base rate ("BR23") incurs 2 increases:
