Improving the RACGP placement process
Thanks to nearly 3,000 survey responses, we've identified what's working and where improvements are needed. We're taking action to strengthen the placement process and support wellbeing throughout GP training.
Read more about the 2025 placement survey outcomes and what's changing on our website.
The 2027.1 placement cycle commences on 31 August. Click here to view the placement key dates.
As we head into 2026.2, we’ve prepared a fact sheet with all the ways you can connect with Joint Colleges Training Services (JCTS) and access their incredible cultural mentorship support for Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) program registrars.
The team is here to support you, so feel free to reach out!
Registrars in NSW, Vic, ACT, Tas, SA, WA and Qld will complete the Registrar Clinical Encounters in Training (ReCEnT) project this semester.
Once your registrar submits 60 encounter forms, they’ll get a report highlighting their clinical exposure and learning opportunities. Use it to guide learning plans, placements and exam preparation.
We recommend reviewing the report together during a scheduled teaching session to support their reflection.
If your registrar is required to complete ReCEnT, they'll receive a welcome email from ReCEnT Online with instructions and their return date.
