CEO Update May 2026

Published on April 30, 2026

THANK YOU!

Two little words, but so important to use regularly.

Why don't we say them more often? Perhaps we don't hear them enough ourselves, or we are simply too task-focused to stop and appreciate the contributions of others.

Thank you to everyone who has completed our ENGAGE: Supervision Matters Survey. Your feedback is invaluable in helping GPSA provide support, resources, and advocacy.

Thank you to all of you who are involved in Supervision – we know this is such an important role but one that is not always recognised.

Thank you for the 48 people who are voluntarily giving their time to share freely with attendees at our upcoming 24 hour Supervision Symposium

Thank you for all the volunteer hours that many of you provide to not-for-profits and charities in your roles as Board members, raising money and participating in networks.

I could go on … being thankful is having an attitude of appreciation and recognising the important contributions that others make, in both paid and unpaid roles across the sector. We all value being acknowledged for our efforts and perhaps are motivated to do even more as a result. Productivity and motivation are closely aligned with this of course.

The question for you is this – does your practice or organisation have mechanisms or systems in place for saying ‘thank you’ – ways that people’s achievements are recognised (and perhaps rewarded). If not, can I challenge you to give this your consideration.

At GPSA, we are excited about the upcoming 24 hour Symposium (12 May) with it’s amazing smorgasbord of sessions led by specialists from around the world. I hope you have registered (free) and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Thank you for reading my update!
